Who we Are

Created in 2013, WASHNETRWANDA is an umbrella/Network of Rwanda local NGOs with interventions in WASH sector (Water, Sanitation, Hygiene and Environment protection).

The umbrella/network was created with a status of a Rwanda Non-Governmental Organization with a possibility to accept membership of International NGOs that operate in Rwanda in WASH sector and environment protection.

Registered with Rwanda Governance Board (RGB), WASHNETRWANDA has a National wide presence in the Republic of Rwanda. WASHNETRWANDA, which prides itself on working in partnership with others and operating effectively, is an independent organization with no religious, political, or governmental affiliations and is an equal opportunity NGO with active focus on quality basic WASH services, training, WASH policy monitoring & advocacy, climate/environmental resilience, community livelihood development, public health and Nutrition.

The Mission: To promote the effective engagement of Rwanda civil society organizations in the formulation and implementation of policies and strategies for WASH Environment Resilience.

The organization has the following objectives:

1. To coordinate WASH CSOs involved in WASH sector for a stronger voice and representation;
2. To enhance public private partnership and inclusion in planning, financing and implementation of WASH activities.
3. To improve capacity building and relevant service delivery for improved WASH sector and for environmental protection.
4. To contribute towards establishment of Policy framework for efficient development and management of WASH and streamlining gender, accountability, nutrition and climate resilience.
5. To conduct research on various issues in pertinent fields of WASH, sharing knowledge and conduct evidence-based policy advocacy.
